Welcome to Goat Rescue
The purpose of this site is to provide information about keeping goats as pets and to help you find a new home for your pet goat if you are unable to keep it.
Mission:
Our mission is to find safe and loving homes for pet goats by matching them with people who have the circumstances and resources to care for them, and to provide a sanctuary for the goats in our herd for whom homes cannot be found. We also offer information, advice and support for keeping goats happy and healthy.
We are not a non-profit organization (too much overhead!), and we are not a business in any sense of the word. We are simply two people who love goats. We don't breed them, sell them or profit from them in any way.
Use this site to:
Find a home:
If you need a home for your goat, click the "Need a Home" button. This will take you to a list of homes. If you don't find a home there you can register with Goat Rescue and list your goat for others to view.
Offer a home:
If you can offer a home or at least help in finding a home, whether you are a private individual, an animal rescue operation or a public service such as a humane society, click on the "Have a Home" button. This will allow you to add your location to this site.
My goal is to list every resource in the world that can provide a home for pet goats. If you know of such a resource please contact them and ask them to register here.
Adopt a goat:
If you are an individual who wants a goat, or a rescue operation that has room for more goats, visit "Want a Goat" for a list of goats that are available or in need of rescue in your area. Goats are flagged as "need a home right now" or "available for adoption". We hope you will give preference to goats that need a home right now.
Offer a goat for adoption:
If you are a rescue operation and would like to list goats for adoption, click on "Need a Home" and flag your goat as "available".
Maintain your account:
Click "Sign In" to log in and maintain your user and location information. You may also de-activate your account, making it invisible to viewers, or re-activate it without losing the information you have entered.
You can also sign in to maintain your goat listings. If you want to temporarily remove a goat from being listed, change the status from "active" to "inactive".
